Secret Calculator: Photo Vault ("the app", package app.secretcalc) is a working calculator that also opens a private, encrypted vault for your photos, videos, audio, files, notes and contacts. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it goes. Contact: aifriends014@gmail.com.
In short: there is no account, and we run no servers that receive your data. Everything you put in the vault is encrypted and stays on your phone. We (the developer) never see your files, PIN or vault contents. The free app shows ads from Google AdMob inside the vault.
A backup is a single encrypted file that you choose to create and save, for example to your Downloads folder or to Google Drive using Android's file picker. It can only be opened with the PIN the vault had when the backup was made. If you save it to a cloud service, that service stores the encrypted file under its own privacy policy. We never receive your backups.
| Permission | Why the app uses it |
|---|---|
| Photos and videos (Android 13+), or storage (older Android) | To show your gallery inside the app so you can choose what to hide, and to remove the originals from your gallery after they are safely encrypted. Originals are only deleted after you confirm, through Android's own delete dialog. Also used to put files back in your gallery when you unhide them. |
| Camera | For the vault camera (photos and videos saved straight into the vault) and, only if you turn it on, the intruder selfie. |
| Microphone | Only while you record a video with the vault camera, so it has sound. |
| Fingerprint / biometrics | To unlock the vault with your fingerprint, if you turn it on. Your fingerprint never leaves the phone's secure hardware. |
| Internet | For the private browser and for ads. |
Contacts you add from your phone are picked one at a time with Android's contact picker; the app does not read your contact list.
Pages you open in the private browser are loaded directly from those websites, which handle your visit under their own policies. When you leave the browser, its history, cookies, cache and site storage are deleted. Images and files you choose to save are encrypted into your vault.
The app shows ads from Google AdMob on vault screens only, never on the calculator or the PIN screen. Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address (and approximate location derived from it), device information and ad interactions to show, measure and protect ads, and may share this with its advertising partners. In regions where consent is required (such as the EEA and UK) you are asked first, and you can change your choice under Settings › Ad privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings › Privacy › Ads. Learn more about how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
The vault protects your files from people who use your phone. It cannot protect a phone that is rooted or infected with malware, and it cannot recover files if you forget your PIN and haven't set a recovery question.
The app is not directed at children under 13.
Everything the app stores lives on your phone. Uninstalling the app (or clearing its storage) permanently deletes the vault and everything in it, so unhide or back up your files first. See how to delete your data.
We will update this page if the app's data practices change, and change the date at the top.
